A day at the tramway
Ride the trains, wander the station precinct and step into a working slice of the Rubicon Forest timber era.
The tramway and museum are located where the Great Victorian Rail Trail meets the north-east side of Alexandra township, at the exquisitely preserved early twentieth-century broad-gauge station. See our location page for a map.
Our usual schedule includes train operating days on the second and fourth Sunday of each month, with variations to accommodate an exciting schedule of special events. The current calendar is on the timetable page.
Admission is by ticket, giving all-day access to the exhibits and unlimited rides on the trains (on running days). We don't currently offer pre-booking — spaces aren't limited, so please buy your tickets on arrival. See current fares.
The safety of everyone is our prime concern. Volunteers and visitors must comply with all safety requirements and directions on site. Facilities on site are listed on the facilities page.
